One of the most common things we hear when people learn about the South Florida Mental Wellness Summit & Expo is some version of: "Is this for me?" The answer is almost always yes. The Summit is not a clinical conference. It is not a networking event dressed up as something deeper. It is a community day, and community means everyone.

That said, there are specific groups of people for whom this day is especially well-suited. If you fall into any of the categories below, we would love to see you in Pembroke Pines on October 22, 2026.

Mental Health Professionals and Clinicians

Therapists, counselors, social workers, psychiatrists — the Summit is a space to connect with peers, discover community resources you may not have known existed, and engage in conversations that go beyond the clinical setting. The expo floor alone is worth the trip. Many providers leave with new referral relationships they actively use for their clients.

This is not continuing education in a lecture hall. It is a chance to be part of the broader mental wellness ecosystem in South Florida and meet the organizations doing important work alongside you.

First Responders

Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical professionals carry a weight that most people do not fully understand. A major focus of the Summit is creating a space where first responders are seen — not just as the people who show up in a crisis, but as community members who deserve support, connection, and access to the same resources they help others reach.

We intentionally build programming and conversation around first responder wellness because it matters, and because the community and its first responders are stronger when they are in the same room together.

Educators and School Professionals

Teachers, school counselors, administrators, and student support staff are often among the first people a young person turns to when something is wrong. The Summit connects school professionals with mental health resources, community organizations, and conversations specifically relevant to supporting students and families across Broward County.

If you work in a school and care about the mental wellness of the students and families you serve, this day was built with you in mind.

Business Owners and Workplace Leaders

Workplace mental health is no longer a fringe topic. Business owners, HR professionals, and team leaders who attend the Summit come away with a clearer picture of the mental wellness landscape in South Florida and more concrete tools for supporting the people they lead. The conversations that happen here — between clinicians, community advocates, and business leaders — simply do not happen in most other settings.

If you are thinking about sponsoring the Summit, attending first is a great way to understand the environment you would be part of.

Community Members, Families, and Individuals

You do not need a credential or a title to walk through those doors. One of the things that makes the Summit genuinely different is that it is designed to be accessible to anyone who wants to learn more, find resources, or simply be in a room full of people who are taking mental wellness seriously.

Whether you are a parent navigating your teenager's anxiety, someone who has been thinking about therapy and is not sure where to start, or a person who just wants to learn more about what support looks like in this community — you belong at this event.

Nonprofit Organizations and Community Advocates

The expo component of the Summit is built for community organizations to show up, share what they do, and connect with people who need them. If your organization provides mental health services, peer support, housing assistance, veterans support, or any kind of community resource — the Summit is a natural home for your presence.

Beyond the expo floor, the conversations and connections that happen in the hallways and between sessions have led to real partnerships and collaborative work across Broward County.

Five Ways to Make the Most of Your Day

Whoever you are, a little intention goes a long way. Here is how to get the most out of the Summit:

  1. Come with a specific question in mind. What is one thing you hope to learn, one type of resource you want to find, or one kind of person you want to meet? Having something to look for makes the day more focused and more useful.
  2. Spend real time on the expo floor. The vendor and resource area is not just a lobby you walk through. The organizations tabling there represent a cross-section of the South Florida mental wellness support system. Take the time to have real conversations.
  3. Introduce yourself to someone you would not normally meet. A clinician talking to a first responder, a nonprofit leader connecting with a business owner — these are the conversations that make the Summit meaningful.
  4. Attend a session outside your comfort zone. If you work in a clinical setting, sit in on something designed for the general public. If you are attending as a community member, do not skip the professional panel. The perspective you gain is worth it.
  5. Stay connected after. The relationships built at the Summit do not have to end when the day does. Follow up with the people you met, reach out to the organizations you discovered, and keep the conversation going.
